Can you provide me the seat matrix for undergraduate courses offered by Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology which is an institute of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)?

Undergraduate courses offered by Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology which is an institute of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) are:

Undergraduate Courses

4-Year B. Tech (Aerospace Engineering)
4-Year B. Tech (Avionics)
5-Year Dual Degree (B Tech + M.S./M. Tech)
The 5-year Dual Degree programme leads to B. Tech degree in Engineering Physics and any of the following Post-Graduate degree specializations:
(i) M.S. (Astronomy & Astrophysics)
(ii) M.S. (Earth System Science)
(iii) M.S. (Solid State Physics)
(iv) M Tech (Optical Engineering)

Seat Matrix for Different Programmes

Programme Seats Available


B. Tech. (Aerospace Engineering) 60
B. Tech. (Avionics) 60
Dual Degree (B. Tech + M.S./M. Tech) 20


Reservation of Seats
One belonging to certain categories is admitted to seats based on reservation criteria as per applicable rules of the Government of India. The categories included are:

Scheduled Castes (SC) --- 15%
Scheduled Tribes (ST) --- 7.5%
Other Backward Castes (OBC) belonging to Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) --- 27%
Persons with Disabilities (PD) --- 3% (Horizontal Reservation)


Eligibility for Admissions to B. Tech Programmes

Citizenship - Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply for admission in IIST.
Qualifying Examination (10+2 or Equivalent)

One seeking admission to IIST should have passed their qualifying exam, with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects of the curriculum

One belonging to GEN and OBC categories must secure an aggregate of at least 70% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) in the qualifying exam and one belonging to SC/ST/PD should have an aggregate of minimum 60% marks in PCM subjects in the qualifying examination.

One must appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi to qualify to appear for Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) conducted by IITs.
