Default Re: VTU EME Notes

The informative notes which can be referred for the Milling & Grinding Machine topic of Elements of Mechanical Engineering (EME) for VTU are as mentioned below:

Milling is a machining procedure in which the metal cutting happens with the assistance of a pivoting multi-point cutter called processing cutter. Here the occupation is held stationary and sustained against a turning apparatus. The cutter has numerous front lines and it pivots at rapid. The machining happens at a much speedier rate and for the most part a decent surface completion is acquired.

The machine apparatuses utilized for different processing operations are called processing machines. Processing machines are very flexible and can do a few operations like making level surfaces, scoring, string and rigging cutting.

The processing cutter is connected to an even pivoting shaft known as arbor. The work piece which cinched on the table is bolstered in the course inverse to the processing cutter(up processing) or in the same bearing of the processing cutter (down processing) The metal is expelled by propelling the workpiece amid every insurgency of the pivoting cutter as chips. The processing operation is broadly utilized as a part of machining level surfaces molded surfaces outer and inner strings, helical surfaces of different cross segments.

Contingent on relative food course of worktable and turn of cutter two unique techniques for processing is conceivable

1. Conventional milling or Up milling
2. Climb milling or Down milling

Please find the detailed notes attached in the file below on both Conventional milling or Up milling & Climb milling or Down milling
