The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET-UG is a qualifying entrance examination in India. NEET is available for students who wish to study any graduate medical course (MBBS), dental course (BDS) or postgraduate course (MD / MS) in government or private medical colleges in India.


Candidates must be either citizen of India or Overseas citizen of India.

Candidates excluding SC/ST/other backward classes are required to secure at least 50% marks in qualifying exam along with subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology.

For SC/ST/Other backward classes applicants the minimum secured marks is 40%

The candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Bio-technology at the qualifying examination.

Age of 17 years

Exam pattern:

NEET will have 180 questions divided in 4 equal sections for Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology.

Total time to complete 180 questions would be 3 hours (180 minutes).
