Lucknow University Admission for Ph D

I want to do Ph D from well known Lucknow University of UP. Can you please give me name of the subjects and dates for admission in this program?

Lucknow University provides PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) courses in Arts, Science, Law, Commerce, Fine arts, Ayurveda and Education. Selection will be based on Qualifying Entrance test (QET), followed by interview round.


PhD Admission Eligibility Criteria


One must have at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC point scale in the respective Master degree or a professional degree declared equal to master degree shall be eligible for admission to the Ph. D. Programme.

For S.C./S.T./OBC/PH candidates, qualifying marks shall be 50% at Master degree level.

Student with M. Phil degree from Indian institute and from foreign educational institute are eligible for Ph. D


One appearing for final year or final semester of the post-graduate degree exam will also be eligible to appear for the admission process subject to the fulfilment of minimum eligibility criteria.


PhD Admission Selection Process

1 - Qualifying Entrance test (QET)

The syllabus of the QET will be the same as prescribed for the PG Programs of the university.

QET will be of 90 minutes duration.

There will be a single question paper of 100 marks having 100 multiple choice questions and questions will check the subject proficiency and research aptitude of the candidate.

The minimum qualifying marks for QET will be 50%.

QET will not be conducted for the exempted candidates


2 – Interview

Interview will be conducted for both the candidates i.e. candidates who will qualify QET as well as QET exempted candidates. It shall consist of evaluating the candidates based on the following parameters:

A research proposal (400-600 words) in the area of research interest of one which will be submitted to the interview board

A power point presentation of the said research proposal by one must be presented in front of the interview board

Personal Interview (PI)

One must bring all the relevant documents during interview.

Final selection will be based on the marks obtained in the interview (60 %) and the academic index (40%) of one. The total result will be computed out of 100.
