HI I would like to know the dates for the upcoming Central Teacher Eligibility Test as my aunt would like to appear for the same to pursue a career as a teacher?

Central Teacher Eligibility Test well known as the CTET is an entrance examination that aids in the short-listing of candidates to appoint for the post of a school teacher for classes I to VIII.

The schedule of CTET conducted in 2016 is as under:
• 9th Edition of CTET will be held on 21st February 2016 (Sunday)
• 10th Edition of CTET will be held on 18th September 2016 (Sunday)

CTET 2016 Exam pattern & syllabus
The CTET exam will be comprising of multiple choice questions (MCQs), each question carrying 1 mark. There won’t be any unconstructive marking on the CTET. The exam has two papers – Paper I and Paper II.
1. a) Candidates who want to teach classes I to V should take Paper I (primary stage).
2. b) Candidates who want to teach classes VI to VIII should take Paper II (elementary stage).
3. c) Candidates who want to teach at both levels – for classes I to V and VI to VIII should take both papers.
Paper I consists of 150 questions and would test candidates in five sections (30 questions in each section):
1. Child Development and Pedagogy
2. Language I
3. Language – II
4. Mathematics
5. Environmental Studies
Paper II consists of 150 questions and would test candidates in four sections:
Child Development and Pedagogy – 30 questions
Language I – 30 questions
Language – II – 30 questions
Mathematics and Science – 60 questions
or
Social Studies/Social Sciences – 60 questions
