Central Teacher Eligibility Test well known as the CTET is an entrance examination that aids in the short-listing of candidates to appoint for the post of a school teacher for classes I to VIII. The schedule of CTET conducted in 2016 is as under: • 9th Edition of CTET will be held on 21st February 2016 (Sunday) • 10th Edition of CTET will be held on 18th September 2016 (Sunday) Detailed schedule of test to be conducted in February will be notified shortly candidates are advised to visit CTET website ![]() & CBSE website ![]() CBSE CTET Exam Summary Exam Name The Central Teacher Eligibility Test Commonly known as CTET Conducting Authority CBSE Level National Stream Education CTET 2016 Exam pattern & syllabus The CTET exam will be comprising of multiple choice questions (MCQs), each question carrying 1 mark. There won’t be any unconstructive marking on the CTET. The exam has two papers – Paper I and Paper II. 1. a) Candidates who want to teach classes I to V should take Paper I (primary stage). 2. b) Candidates who want to teach classes VI to VIII should take Paper II (elementary stage). 3. c) Candidates who want to teach at both levels – for classes I to V and VI to VIII should take both papers. Paper I consists of 150 questions and would test candidates in five sections (30 questions in each section): 1. Child Development and Pedagogy 2. Language I 3. Language – II 4. Mathematics 5. Environmental Studies Paper II consists of 150 questions and would test candidates in four sections: Child Development and Pedagogy – 30 questions Language I – 30 questions Language – II – 30 questions Mathematics and Science – 60 questions or Social Studies/Social Sciences – 60 questions
