The Department of Applied Science offers Ph. D program in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. This program is intended to encourage the development of research in the basic and applied science.

Ph. D Research Areas
Currently, School of Management, ITMU offers PhD in the following areas.

A. Management of Innovation and Entrepreneurship

B. Marketing and Human Resource Management

SML 701 Foundations of Management Research (3 credits)
SML 703 Quantitative Data Analysis (3 credits)
SML 702 Qualitative Research Methods (3 credits)
HML701 Communication Skills (0 credits, Audit Course 1-0-2)

Eligibility for Admission
Applicants must have secured at least 60% marks in M. Tech. in Engineering & Technology disciplines including Applied Sciences.

Applicants with a B.Tech degree from IITs with minimum 7.5 CGPA shall be eligible to apply.
Additionally MSc/ MCA degree holders from IITs/NITs or centrally funded Universities with CGPA minimum 7.5 or equivalent are also eligible to apply.

For the duration and eligibility related aspects, MSc/ MCA degree will be treated equal to B.Tech. degree.
Applicants with M.Phil degree are also eligible as they will be treated at par with M.Tech degree holders for the purpose of admission.

Applicants in the final year of their Master’s programmes who expect to complete all their qualifying degree requirements before a specified date indicated by the ITM University can apply for admissions.

For short-listing purposes, Applicants performance till the preceding semester (preceding year if their programmes are year based) would be considered but their admission would be subject to their meeting the minimum eligibility criteria after their final qualifying examination results are announced.

Each Part - time Applicant is required to submit a “No Objection Certificate” on a proper letterhead from the appropriate authority of the organization in which he/she is presently working clearly stating the following:
Applicant is permitted to pursue studies on a part-time basis. His/her official duties permit him/her to devote sufficient time for completion of course work and carry out doctoral research.
