Will you please give me the Age limit to appear for IAS exam????????? The age eligibility for Indian Administrative Service (IAS) is as follows: A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and not more than 30 years on 1st August, 2015, i.e. one must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1982 and not later than 1st August, 1991. The upper age limit prescribed above is relaxable: Up to a maximum of 5 years for Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe Up to a maximum of 3 years for Other Backward Classes who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates Up to a maximum of 5 years for a candidate who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from the 1st January, 1980 to the 31st day of December, 1989 Up to a maximum of 3 years for Defence Services personnel disabled in operations during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof. Up to a maximum of 5 years in the case of ex-servicemen including Commissioned Officers and ECOs/SSCOs who have rendered minimum 5 years Military Service as on 1st August, 2015 and have been released . On completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within one year from 1st August, 2015) otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency, or On account of physical disability attributable to Military Service, or on invalidment Up to a maximum of 5 years for ECOs/SSCOs who have completed an initial period of assignment of 5 years Military Service as on 1st August, 2015 and whose assignment has been extended beyond 5 years and in whose case the Ministry of Defence issues a certificate that they can apply for civil employment and that they are released on 3 months notice on selection from the date of receipt of offer of appointment. IAS exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Age Limits to appear in IAS Exam--- You must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years. The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable : --upto a maximum of 5 years for Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe -- upto a maximum of 3years for Other Backward Classes -- upto a maximum of 5 years in the case of ex-servicemen including Commission Officers and ECOs/ SSCOs who have rendered at least five years Military Service --Upto a maximum of 5 years in the case of ECOs/SSCOs who have completed an initial period of assignment of five years Military Service -- upto a maximum of 10 years in the case of blind, deaf-mute and orthopaedically handicapped persons. -- upto a maximum of 5 years for domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from the 1st January, 1980 to the 31st day of December, 1989. -- upto a maximum of 3 years in the case of Defence Services personnel disabled in operations during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof. Minimum Educational Qualifications -- You must hold a degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University Under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification.
