As you want to get the details of eligibility criteria and the age limit of exam of Indian Police Service so here is the information of the same for you:

Eligibility Criteria:
A candidate must be either:
(a) A citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India.
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Srilanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Educational Qualifications:
Candidates must have passed a degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University Under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification.

Number of attempts:
General candidates: four attempts.
Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates: No restriction.
Other Backward Classes: seven attempts.

Age limit:
Candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st August, in the year of examination.

The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable in the follwing cases:

Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe: upto a maximum of five years.
Other Backward Classes: upto a maximum of three years.
State of Jammu & Kashmir (Domiciled during the period from the 1st January, 1980 to 31st December, 1989): upto a maximum of five years.
Defence Services personnel : upto a maximum of five years

Indian Police Service Limited Competitive Examination is a Civil Services Exam conducted by UPSC

Age limit-
21 years minimum

30 years maximum,
33 for OBCs
35 for SCs/STs

Number of Attempts
Four attempts for general,
Seven for OBCs
No limit for SCs/STs

Educational Qualification
Candidate must have graduation degree from recognized University or an equivalent qualification.

Candidates in the final year of degree can also appear in the Preliminary Examination

Preliminary Exam Pattern
Paper 1

Current events of national and international importance
History of India and Indian national movement
Indian and World Geography- physical, social, economic geography of India and the world
Indian Polity and governance – constitution, political system, panchayati raj, public policy, Rights issues, etc.
Economic and social development – sustainable development, poverty, inclusion, demographics, social sector initiatives etc.
General issues on environmental ecology, bio-diversity and climate change-that do not require subject specialization
General science.

Paper 2
Interpersonal skills including communication skills
Logical reasoning and analytical ability
Decision making and problem solving
General mental ability
Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude etc. (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. –Class X level)
English language comprehension skills (Class X level)

Optional Subjects
The optional subject for the second paper may be chosen from the following given subjects:

4 Chemistry
5 Civil Engineering
6 Commerce
7 Economics
8 Electrical Engineering
