As an ECE Engineer you can go for both software and core sectors, Its totally depend on your interest

If you are interested in core fields then you have to make a good grip on the subjects like -

Analog Electronics
Analog and Digital communication
Digital electronics
Microprocessor

If you want to go for Software field then you have to make a good grip on -

Data structure
DBMS
Networking
C++

Core jobs for the ECE students other then software jobs like –
