Govind Ballabh Pant Social Science Institute offers Doctoral and Post-Doctoral research work with ICSSR fellowship support for scholars. Following are the details of it:

Eligibility:
The applicant should have completed Post graduation in Social Science discipline with at least 55% marks. The candidate should have cleared National Eligibility Test (NET) for JRF /Lecturership.

Age
The upper age limit for a doctoral fellow is below 35 years (relaxable by 5 years in case of SC or ST).

Fellowship
The selected candidate will be paid a fellowship amount of Rs.6, 000/- per month for two years, extendable by one year in exceptional cases only, plus Rs.12,000/- per annum as contingency grant.

In case of an employed scholar his/her salary is protected. In addition, a contingency grant of Rs.12, 000/- per annum will also be paid.
