Qualifying Exam:
Candidates must have passed the civil services exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission. They should first qualify the preliminary test called Civil Service Aptitude Test (CSAT). This preliminary test is common for all civil services IAS, IPS, IFS and IRS. Those who qualify in this test can attend the main exam and interview.

Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates must be an Indian citizen

Candidates who have completed their degree from central or state or deemed or open university are eligible to apply for this exam. Those who have completed degree through correspondence education or distance education are also eligible to apply for this exam. The age of the candidates applying for this exam should be between twenty one and thirty years. However relaxation in age limit is given for privileged candidates.

Complete graduation in any stream
Qualify Civil Service Aptitude Test (CSAT)

Collectors are responsible for handling various tasks like taxation , revenue collection and law and order maintaining.

Central government recruits collectors in each district for handling various administrative purposes in a district.

Collectors are the highest government officials in a state.

Collectors should have the control of planning permission.
