As you want to get the qualifications required to apply for bank exams so here is the information of the same for you:

(I) Age: (As on date specified in the notification)

(a) Public Sector Banks:

PO --- 20 to 30 years
Clerical --- 20 to 28 years

(b) Regional Rural Banks :

For Officer Scale- III ------ Below 40 years
For Officer Scale- II-------- Above 21 years and below 32 years
For Officer Scale- I --------- Above 18 years and below 28 years
For Office Assistant -------- Between 18 years and 28 years

(c) SBI and SBI Associate Banks:

PO --- 21 to 30 years
Clerical --- 18 to 28 years
Note – Relaxation of age as per rules for reserved candidates.

(II) Minimum Education Qualification: (As on date specified in the notification)

(a) Public Sector Banks:

PO --- A degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

Clerical --- A degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

(b) Regional Rural Banks :

Office Assistant(Clerk) - Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent

Officer Scale-I --- Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent

Officer Scale-II (GBO) --- Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with minimum 50% aggregate. Experience --- Two years as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.

Officer Scale-II (Specialist Officers)

(i) Chartered Accountant - Certified Associateship (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Experience --One Year

(ii) Marketing Officer- Post Graduate Degree in Marketing from a recognized university. Experience --One Year

(iii) Treasury Manager- Certified Associateship (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or Post graduate Degree in Finance from a recognized university/ institution. Experience – One Year

(iv) Agricultural Officer - Degree in Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Dairy Science/ Animal Husbandry/ Forestry/ Veterinary Science/ Agricultural/Engineering/ Pisciculture or allied specializations or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Experience – Two Years

Officer Scale-III --- Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with minimum 50% aggregate. Experience --- 5 years as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.

(c) SBI and SBI Associate Banks:

PO --- A degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

Clerical --- Minimum 12th Standard (10 + 2) or equivalent qualification thereof with a minimum of 60% marks

OR

Diploma Course passed after 10th Standard with a minimum of 60% marks

OR

A degree (Graduation level) from recognized university with a minimum of 40% marks Note – Relaxation of age as per rules for reserved candidates.

(III) Computer Literacy:

Some banks insist that the candidate should posses working knowledge of computers before joining the bank and few banks mention that the desired computer skills may be acquired within six months of joining the bank.

If a candidate has not studied computers as one of the subjects in school/college, the candidate must possess a valid diploma (basic applications) in computers.

(IV) Language Proficiency:

(a) Public Sector Banks:

Clerical ---- Since clerical cadre recruitment would be on State-wise basis, the candidate may also be required to possess proficiency in the Official Language of the State/UT for which vacancies he wishes to apply.

(b) Regional Rural Banks :

For Office Assistants (Clerks) and Scale-I Officers ---- Candidates are required to possess proficiency in the Official Language of the State/UT in which RRB is located and must have passed "local language" as one of the subjects at Matriculation/Xth Standard

(c) SBI and SBI Associate Banks

Clerical ---- Since clerical cadre recruitment would be on State-wise basis, the candidate may also be required to possess proficiency in the Official Language of the State/UT for which vacancies he wishes to apply.

Here, I am going to tell you detail of the qualifications required in banks exam for various posts.

Bank PO Exam

Education: Candidate passed gradation degree in any discipline with at least 60% marks.
Age: The age of candidate should be between 21 years to 30 years.
Nationality: The nationality of the candidate should be Indian.

Examination Pattern
Phase I:
Objective Test: English Language, General Awareness, Data analysis and interpretation, Reasoning (200 Marks)
Descriptive test of English Language (comprehension, small outline, article and letter writing) 50 Marks

Phase II:
Group Discussion 20 Marks
Group Discussion (Rural) 10 Marks
Interview 30 Marks
Experience 10 Marks

Bank Clerk

Education: The candidate have graduate in any discipline form recognized institute, the candidate should have good computer knowledge.
Age: The age of candidate should be between 20 years to 28 years.

Examination Pattern
1 Reasoning: 40 questions of 40 marks
2 English Language: 40 questions of 40 marks
3 Numerical Ability: 40 questions of 40 marks
4 General Awareness (with special reference to Banking Industry): 40 questions of 40 marks
5 Computer Knowledge: 40 questions of 40 marks
Total marks: 200, Duration: 2 hours.

Bank Specialist Officer

Educational:
IT Officer (Scale I/II): Candidate has graduation degree in Computer Science/ Computer Applications/ Information Technology/ Electronics/ Electronics & Telecommunications/ Electronics & Communication/ Electronics & Instrumentation OR Post Graduate Degree in Electronics/ Electronics & Tele Communication/ Electronics & Communication/ Electronics & Instrumentation/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Computer Applications from a recognized University/ Institution OR Graduate from a recognized university having passed DOEACC ‘B’ level. For Scale II I year minimum qualification required.

Agricultural Field Officer (Scale I): Candidate has graduation degree in Agriculture or allied specializations such as Horticulture/Animal Husbandry/ Veterinary Science/ Dairy Science/ Agri. Engineering/ Fishery Science/ Pisciculture/ Agri Marketing & Cooperation etc. from recognized university.

Rajbhasha Adhikari (Scale I): Candidate has post Graduate Degree in Hindi with English as a subject at the degree level OR a post graduate degree in Sanskrit with English and Hindi as subjects at the degree level.

Law Officer (Scale I/II): Candidate has graduation in Law (LLB). For Scale II minimum 3 years experience of practice at Bar or Judicial service and/or Law Officer in the Legal Dept. of a reputed Bank or the Central/State Government or of a Public Sector Undertaking with practice at Bar.

Technical Officer (Scale I): Candidate has graduation degree in Engineering in Civil/ Electrical/ Mechanical/ Production/ Metallurgy/ Electronics/ Electronics & Telecommunication/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Textile/ Chemical etc./ B.Pharm.

HR/Personnel Officer (Scale I): Candidate has graduation from a recognized university and Post Graduate degree or diploma recognized by AICTE in Personnel Management / Industrial Relations/ HRD/Social Work / Labour Law OR Degree/Diploma in Business Administration/ Management with specialization in HRD from a recognized University.

Marketing Officer (Scale I): Candidate need to pass in MBA (Marketing)/2 years PGDBA/PGDBM or any other equivalent degree or diploma with specialization in Marketing from a recognized University/ Institution.

Exam Pattern:

For Law Officer Scale I & II and Rajbhasha Adhikari Scale I
1. Reasoning: 50 questions of 50 marks
2. English Language: 50 questions of 25 marks
3. Professional knowledge: 50 questions of 75 marks
4. General Awareness (with special reference to Banking Industry): 50 questions of 50 marks
Total: 200 marks (Duration: 2 hours)

For Specialist Officers - IT Officer (Scale I), Agricultural Field Officer (Scale I), Technical Officer (Scale I), HR/Personnel Officer (Scale I), Marketing Officer (Scale I), IT Officer (Scale II)
1. Reasoning: 50 questions of 50 marks
2. English Language: 50 questions of 25 marks
3. Professional knowledge: 50 questions of 75 marks
3. Quantitative Aptitude: 50 questions of 50 marks
Total: 200 marks (Duration: 2 hours)
