Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all-India examination. This examination is conducted jointly by the IISc and seven Indian Institutes of Technology. To crack this examination you should Follow standard books, stress on understanding things than memorizing them. You should follow the tips given below in to the order to crack the examination:

Solve objective type (especially numericals) questions as much as possible.
Do not practice questions in rough. You may need to see the solutions at the time of revision.
Go through previous year papers (say last 10 years) to check your knowledge and note the distribution of different topics.
Keep preparing your personal notes as you cover topics.
No need to cover the entire syllabus.
Revision is one of the most important step of the preparation process (around 20 days before examination).
Follow your notes during this time and solve time-bound question papers (preferrably last year papers).
Do not make any guesses in the paper. If possible, try to eliminate the choices by minimum calculation/analysis.

Preparing for GATE or Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering can be as easy as preparing for your college examinations. Just take little cautions while studying any topic and do remember that GATE paper focus on your in depth knowledge of subject, basics, presence of mind during examination etc.

Tips to Crack GATE Exam

Know the pattern and syllabus of the GATE examination and they have to prepare according to it.

Follow standard books, stress on understanding things than memorizing them.

Solve objective type (especially numerical) questions as much as possible.

Always cover the entire syllabus.

Keep preparing your personal notes as you cover topics.

Go through previous year papers to check your knowledge and note the distribution of different topics.

Revision is one of the most important steps of the preparation process (around 20 days before examination).

Don't pressurize yourself at the last moment; relax for a good time before the exam to freshen up for appearing for the examination.
