IGIDR was established in the year 1987.
It is recognized by UGC.
It is fully funded by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI)
It was registered as an autonomous body & as a public trust.
It is approved by NAAC.
The director of IGIDR is Mahendra Dev.

As you looking for the admission in the M.SC programme in this institute so we are providing you some information about it .

This institute has provide admission in the M.SC programme in Economics . This is a Two year duration programme .
In the first year you have to study the following compulsory subjects : Statistics , Econometrics-I and II, Mathematics for Economists, and Development Economics. And Microeconomics-I and II, Macroeconomics-I and II .

In the second year : Public Economics, Indian Economy, Energy and Environment-I etc.


For this programme you have to passed B.Com. or BA or B.SC or B.Tech or BE with minimum second division for economics disciplines.

The Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR) is an advanced research institute that was not only established but also fully funded by the RBI.

This institute provides the following courses-

M.Sc.
M.Phil.
Ph.D.

As you want to take admission to the institute in the MSc in Economics course here are the details-

This is a two-year programme, that provides students with a careful and hands-on training in Economics,

Minimum qualification for admission to M.Sc. programme include one of the following degrees or their equivalents:

B.A. / B.Sc. in Economics / B.Com. / B.Stat. / B.Sc. (Physics or Mathematics) / B.Tech./B.E. with at least a Second Division for Economics Discipline and First Division for other disciplines.

The candidate must have studied mathematics at the higher secondary level or should be able to demonstrate equivalent mathematical ability.

The admission is given on the performance in the written test that is to be followed by the interview at the institute.

Following are some of the things that you will study at the institute-

Time Series Analysis I and II, Modern international trade, Natural resource economics, Financial econometrics, Tools for sustainability indicators I & II, Games and information, Industrial organization, Applied general equilibrium models, Issues in industrial economics and corporate finance, Financial economics, Agricultural economics.

Fees-


M.Sc. students have to pay a tuition fee of Rs. 8000/- per semester.
