To get Jobs in Government Schools in India as a teacher you need the crack the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET). It is now mandatory for all existing and aspiring primary and middle school teachers in the country, with the passing of the Right to Education Act. Following are the details of it:

Teacher Eligibility Test
Eligibility: the applicant should have completed Higher Secondary Course (10+2Pattern) and Diploma in Teacher Education / Diploma in Elementary Education, Bachelor’s Degree, D.E.Ed / B.Ed or equivalent.

Government of India conducts Teacher Eligibility in two papers viz., Paper I & Paper II. Candidates who want to teach I to V class have to write Paper I and to teach VI to VIII classess must write Paper-II and to teach the classes from I to VIII must appear for both the papers.
