How many marks are required in 12th class Physics paper of CBSE board?

You need to get minimum 24 marks to pass in the theory paper in physics and a minimum of 11 marks in practical.

For your idea, here I am providing list of few questions which were asked in physics paper.
State Gauss's theorem in electrostatics. Apply this theorem to derive an expression for
electric field intensity at a point near an infinitely long straight charged wire.

Explain the underlying principle of working of a parallel plate capacitor.
If two similar plates, each of area A having surface charge densities and are
separated by a distance d in air, write expressions for
(i) the electric field at points between the two plates.
(ii) the potnetial difference between the plates.
(iii) the capacitance of the capacitor so formed.

Draw the graph to show variation of binding energy per nucleon with mass number of
different atomic nuclei. Calculate binding energy/nucleon of nucleus. 3
Given :
mass of proton = 1.007825 u
mass of neutron = 1.008665 u
and 1 u = 931 MeV/C

Draw the circuit diagram of a common emitter amplifier using n-p-n transistor. What is
the phase differnece between the input signal and output voltage ? State two reasons
why a common emitter amplifier is preferred to a common base amplifier.

Write the acronym LASER in expanded form. State any four reasons for preferring diode
lasers as light sources for optical communication links.

Use Huygen's principle to explain diffraction of light due to a narrow single slit and
the formation of a patern of fringes obtained on the screen. Sketch the pattern of
fringes formed due to diffraction at a single slit showing variation of intensity with
angle .

The passing marks in 12th Class are 33 out of 100 in CBSE (Central Board Secondary Education).

But, Physics being a Practical Subject, you need to pass both in practical as well as theory individually so the mark allotted for both to pass is 38 marks:

24 marks out of 70 marks are required in theory as minimum marks to pass and 14 marks out of 30 marks are required in practical as minimum marks to pass.

SECTIONA

Draw a plot of resistivity versus temperature for a typical semiconductor.

Define the term attenuation in communication system

Inphotoelectric emission, when the frequency of incident radiation in Photoelectric effect is doubled, will the maximum kinetic energy of photoelectrons also be doubled? Justify your answer

State the condition under which a large magnification can be achieved in an instrumental telescope

How does the angle of minimum deviation of a glass prism vary if the incident violet light is replaced by a red light?

SECTION B

Show that image formed by convex mirror of an object is always virtual.

Distinguish between nuclear fusion and nuclear fission. Give one example for each.

An electron in a hydrogen atom in the second excited state jumps to the first and ground state of the atom. Find the ratio of the wavelengths excited during this process.

Five point charges, each of charge + q are placed on five vertices of a regular hexagon of side l. Find the magnitude of the resultant force on a charge q placed at the centre of the hexagon.

A simple pendulum consists of small sphere of mass m suspended by a thread of length l. The sphere carries a positive charge q. The pendulum is placed in a uniform electric field of strength E directed vertically downwards. Find the period of oscillation of the pendulum due to the electrostatic force acting on the sphere, neglecting the effect of the gravitational force.
