Default Re: NET exam pattern and procedure

NET stands for National Eligibility Test .It is conducted by UGC twice in a year.

Candidate must be citizen of India.
Candidate must hold post graduation degree.
Candidate must score 55% in PG course,50% for SC/ST.
No upper age limitation.

Exam pattern:
NET exam consists of 3 sections, 2 objective sections and 1 descriptive section.
Paper I is common for all subject candidates and will mainly consists of questions from
Teaching and Research Aptitude
Quantitative Reasoning
General Aptitude
Elementary basics of Computer Science
General Science
General Knowledge
Current Affairs
Paper II & III will be separate for each subject candidates and will comprise of questions from the respective subject areas.

Paper I will consist of 60 questions of 2 marks each; among which the candidate has to answer only 50 questions within time duration of 75 minutes.

Paper II comprises of 50 objective type questions each carrying 2 marks which have to be answered within 75 minutes

Paper III consists of 2 essays of 20 marks each, 3 analytical/ evaluative questions of 15 marks each, 9 definitional/ short answer type questions of 10 marks each and 5 text based questions of 5 marks each.
In total, the candidate has to answer 19 questions of 200 marks within 150 minutes.

Application procedure:
Interested applicants can apply to the registration procedure through their site by completing their registration.
Please complete the registration before the last date
Candidates you have to upload you scanned signature and photographs in jpg format on the official website after following the instructions that are available on the official website.
You need to pay the application fees through the challan. And attach all the required documents or certificates that are mentioned in the notification below and send them before the last date
Please send the registration form filled through the postal address mention in the instructions of the registration form.

Important dates of the UGC NET:
Last date for applying Online & generation of filled Bank Challan for Fee.04.11.2013
Last date of submission of Fee through online generated Bank Challan, at any branch of
State Bank of India (SBI).-07.11.2013
Last date of taking printout of Application Form, Attendance Slip and Admit Card from UGC website- 10.11.2013
Last date for receiving the printout of online Application Form (one copy) and Attendance Slip (one copy) at the respective Coordinating University opted by the candidate -14.11.2013
