National Institute of Technology, Durgapur (NIT Durgapur) is a public engineering college which was formerly known as the Regional Engineering College, Durgapur (REC Durgapur). It was founded in 1960 and has been recognised as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India under the National Institutes of Technology Act, 2007. General Eligibility and Admission Criteria for M. Tech Programmes (I) GATE-qualified candidates: Admission for GATE-qualified candidates is made through centralized e-counselling (II) Part-time, sponsored and self-sponsored candidates: -Admission is made through admission test and viva voce conducted by different departments in NIT Durgapur. -The Admission notice is published in April-May -Both GATE and non-GATE candidates shall be considered for self-sponsed category. Admission procedure: Selection will be based on-- 30% weightage on Percentage of Marks / CGPA obtained in the last qualifying examination, 30% weightage on written Admission Test, and 40% weightage on viva-voce in respective departments at NIT Durgapur. -Selected candidates from written test have to appear for viva voce - Sponsored candidates must have a minimum of two years full-time work experience in a registered Firm/ Company /Industry /Educational or Research Institutions/ any Government Autonomous Organizations in the relevant field - A No-Objection Certificate from the Employer is essential for admission to part-time M. As you want I am here telling you about the eligibility criteria for admission in post graduation MCA course in NIT Trichy. Eligibility: Applicant should passed in Bachelor’s degree of Full Time 3 years duration from a recognized University with Mathematics / Statistics / Business Maths ,as one of the subjects in any one semester/year, both in graduation and at 10+2 level are eligible. Applicant should secure minimum 60% marks (6.5/10 CGPA). For SC/ST Applicant percentage of marks required is 55%(6.0/10 CGPA). Applicant should be Indian Nationals . Applicant should appear for the NIMCET. Examination pattern: Duration : two and a half hours. Consists of 120 multiple choice questions with four choices for each question. Question paper will contain 120 multiple choice questions covering the following topics: Mathematics 50 questions Analytical Ability and Logical Reasoning 40 questions Computer Awareness 10 questions General English 20 questions SYLLABUS FOR ENTRANCE TEST: MATHEMATICS ![]() Set Theory: Concepts of sets – Union – Intersection – Cardinality – Elementary counting, permutations and combinations Probability and Statistics: Basic concepts of probability theory, Averages, Dependent and independent events, frequency distributions, measures of central tendencies and dispersions. Algebra: Fundamental operations in Algebra, Expansions, Factorization, simultaneous linear/quadratic equations, indices, logarithms- arithmetic, geometric and harmonic progressions, determinants and matrices. COMPUTER AWARENESS: (10 questions) Computer Basics: Organization of a Computer, Central Processing Unit (CPU), Structure of instructions in CPU, input / output devices, computer memory, back-up devices. Data Representation: Representation of characters, integers and fractions, binary and hexadecimal representations, Binary Arithmetic: Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, simple arithmetic and two’s complement arithmetic, floating point representation of numbers, Boolean algebra, truth tables, Venn diagrams. GENERAL ENGLISH: (20 questions) Questions in this section will be designed to test the candidates’ general understanding of the English language. There will be questions on the following topics.
