It is recognized as Institute of National Importance by Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. The primary objective of the Smt. G R Doshi and Smt. K M Mehta Institute of Kidney Diseases and Research Center and Dr. H L Trivedi Institute of Transplantation Sciences is to set up, function, encourage, run and manage institutions engaged in service, education and research related to the field of Nephrology, Urology, Transplantation, Hematology, Autoimmune and Genetic disorders. Post-Graduate Programmes DNB- Urology Course: 2 seats per year. Eligibility: MS/ DNB: General surgery. Entrance examination: Exams are held in January/ February every year. DM- Nephrology Course: 4 seats per year. Eligibility: MD in General medicine/ pediatrics. Entrance examination: Examinations are held in June-July every year. MD (Anesthesia) and DA (Diploma in Anesthesia) Postgraduate students join the department through Gujarat University entrance system for Diploma in Anaesthesia for 2 yrs. or M.D. in Anaesthesia for 3 yrs. PCCC - Post-graduate Certificate Course in Renal and transplant pathology. Only one candidate is selected every year for this course. Eligibility: One year experience after MD (pathology). Duration: One year, full time (January to December).
