The City and Guilds of London Institute (City & Guilds) is a leading United Kingdom vocational education organization. Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (6087) Level 2: This level is for those who are working, or looking to work, in the refrigeration and air-conditioning industry and have some relevant knowledge and skills. This level comprises: Mandatory Maintain the safe working environment for HVACR activities Contribute to the improvement of business products and services for HVACR work activities Plan RAC work activities Commission and decommission RAC systems. Optional units Install RAC systems and components Service and maintain RAC systems and components. Additional units Design RAC systems Specify programmes for working on RAC systems. Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (6087) Level 3: Level 3 is ideal for those who are refrigeration and air-conditioning engineer or technician with a great deal of technical skills. This level comprises: Mandatory units Maintain the safe working environment for HVACR activities Plan complex HVACR work activities Commission and decommission complex RAC systems. Optional units Install complex RAC systems and components Service and maintain complex RAC systems and components. Additional Units Design complex RAC systems Specify programmes for working on complex RAC systems. Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (6187): Level 2: Those who are working, or would like to start work, in installing and maintaining refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump systems and have some relevant knowledge and skills. There are two qualifications available at Level 2: NVQ Diploma in Installing and Maintaining Refrigeration Systems NVQ Diploma in Installing, Testing and Maintaining Air-Conditioning and Heat Pump Systems. These comprise mandatory units, including: Apply safe working practices in building services engineering working environment Understand how to apply scientific principles within MES Understand and carry out electrical work on RAC systems and components Install and commission Halocarbon 'fluorinated' refrigeration systems. Level 3: Those who have an experience in refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump systems engineer and have a great deal of technical skills and knowledge. There are four qualifications available at Level 3: NVQ Certificate in Servicing and Maintaining Air-Conditioning and Heat Pump Systems (QCF) NVQ Certificate in Installing and Commissioning Air-Conditioning and Heat Pump Systems (QCF) NVQ Diploma in Servicing and Maintaining Refrigeration Systems (QCF) NVQ Certificate in Installing and Commissioning Refrigeration Systems (QCF). Each comprises four mandatory units, including: Understand Halocarbon 'fluorinated' refrigeration system service and maintenance techniques Understand and carry out electrical work on RAC systems and components Understand how to organise resources within BSE.
