Hi friends, I am doing PhD from University of Pune. I got admission in PhD at University of Pune in 2010 and I got tknow that last year the university published revised PhD rules, sI want information about revised Rules for Ph.D. would you please give me the rules?

I want to join Savitribai Phule Pune University for doing PHD degree searching for some details. Will you provide Pune University Phd Rules also tell what the eligibility required to apply?

PhD Eligibility:


For admission to the Ph.D. programme in a related subject in the faculty, applicants fulfilling the following criteria shall be treated as eligible:

a) Person having a Post Graduate Degree (Master Degree) Examination with at least 50% marks or equivalent Grade Point Average(GPA).

b) Persons having passed Post-Graduate Degree (Master Degree) Examination Law Faculty with at least 55%.
Examination Fees


All International Students are required to pay a fee of Rs. 5000/- for Ph.D. Online Entrance Examination.

Savitribai Phule Pune University (formerly University of Pune) offers research programmes in different subjects.

Passing the Ph.D. Online Entrance Examination is no guarantee for admission. Admission depends only on availability of seats and guides.

Documents for PIO/OCI Students
(All documents should be in original + copy.)

1. * Student’s Passport – original + copy.
2. * PIO/OCI Card – original + copy.
3. * Under Graduate Marksheet (All years marksheet).
4. * Post Graduate Degree Marksheet (All years marksheet) (No attestations or computer printout) (Incase marksheet is from a Foreign University, AIU Equivalence Certificate is mandatory) .
5. * Post Graduate Certificate.
6. M. Phil. Marksheets (if applicable).
7. Passing Certificate – original + copy.
8. * Birth Certificate – original + copy
9. Migration – original.
10. Passport size photo.

PhD Eligibity
L. Eligibility :
For admission to the Ph.D. programme in a related subject in the Faculty, applicants fulfilling any of the following criteria shall be treated as eligible:
Persons having passed Post Graduate Degree (Master Degree) Examination with at least 50% marks or equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA)
Persons having passed Post Graduate Degree (Master Degree) Examination in the Faculty of Law with at least 55% marks.

5 % relaxation in the required percentage of marks will be given to the students of State of Maharashtra belonging to SC/ST/DT/NT/SBC/O BC categories.

(b) Persons working in National Laboratories/lnstitutes/Government/Private Organization nominated/sponsored by the respective employer. These persons should have a Post Graduate Degree and holding a rank of Assistant Director or above.
