Is there is any management quota in Indian Institute of Management? IIM does not take admission on the basis of management quota. The admission in any of the IIM is based on merit list prepared on the basis CAT scores. Common Admission Test (CAT) is an all-India test conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) as an entrance exam for admission to the Post-graduate and Fellow Programs in management courses. Eligibility- Bachelor’s degree in any stream with atleast 50% or equivalent CGPA 45% for SC/ST. Final year student of graduation or those awaiting their final year results can also apply Age : No age bar CAT exam syllabus There is no fixed syllabus for IIM CAT. Exam pattern are mainly from these areas usually divided into two sections Section I Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation Quantitative Ability comprising mainly of arithmetic, mensuration, geometry, algebra, trignometry, probablity and calculus etc Arithmetic number systems, ratio propotions, simplification, averages, ages, time, work, distances etc. Geomtery - triangles and circles Mensuration - areas and volumes Algebra - theory of equations, quadratiic equations, pemutations and combinations, sequence and series etc Trignometry - height and distances Calculus - maxima and minima, functions etc Data Interpretation Data Interpretation - line graphs, bar charts, tables, pie diagrams, scatter diagrams Section II Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning Verbal Ability comprising English Grammar, Vocabulary, Proficiency, Usage and Comprehension English Grammar - not many core questions English Vocabulary - no straight synonyms or antonyms but sometimes analogies or pairs in fill in blanks English Proficiency - correction, rearrangement and completion of sentences and paragraphs English Usage - inappropriate usage of words, commonly confused pair of words English Comprehension - around five to six paragraphs with around 1000 words and five to six questions each mainly checking your ability to comprehend with speed. Indian Institute of Management (IIM) does not have any management quota they always go on merit basis based on your entrance exam and Group Discussion and Personal Interview. There is a NRI quota for Foreign students , admission is through GMAT but there is no Management Quota as such It is just for SC, ST, OBC and in some institutes NRIs quota is also there. CAT Eligibility:- You must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA). |
