There are 3 stages of PSI-STI-Assistant Exam:
Preliminary Examination
Main Examination
Physical Test
Interview

Preliminary Examination:
This is called the General Ability Test .
Syllabus is of 10th std. Level Questions are in both in English and Marathi mediums.
There are multiple choice 150 Questions.
The Exam is generally conducted at all district places in Maharashtra.
Applicants successful in Preliminary Exam are called for Main Examination. Marks scored in Preliminary Exam are not counted for final selection
Preliminary Examination consist300 Marks and Timing is 11/2 hours.
Sub-topics of General Studies:
1)Indian and World Geography 20 Questions
2)Arithmetic 20 Questions
3)General Sciences 20 Questions
4)History 20 Questions
5)Social Reformers 20 Questions
6)Indian Polity, Panchayat Raj and Economics 25 Questions
7)Current Events 25 Questions
Total 150 Questions
