The Master of Business Administration (MBA) (Evening) Program started functioning under the Faculty of Business Studies, University of Dhaka in 2002. Dhaka University EMBA MBA (Evening) programs of the Faculty of Business Studies, University of Dhaka is designed and has been executing in view of the growing demand of the executive for developing necessary skills and learning appropriate analytical tools and techniques of decision making in effectively and efficiently managing organizations. Basic Features of the Program: A1. Special Areas: Management Studies Accounting and Information System (AIS) Marketing Finance Banking Management Information System (MIS) Tourism and Hospitality Management and International Business A2. Credit Hour: A student have is to take 21 courses of sixty three credit hours and internship and project paper of three credit hours for the MBA degree. However, with waiver of courses, if granted on the basis of academic background and attainment of the students, some of them will be allowed to take less than 21 courses. A3. Trimister System: There are three semester in a year. A4. Internship or Project Paper: Every graduating student, after completion of MBA course work, is required to undergo an internship program for at least three months. Each student will be guided by a teacher to write a project paper on a selected topic which will be evaluated and graded. Admission Requirements: Requirement: Applicants need to have Bachelor degree in any discipline with a minimum of 6 points to qualify for application for admission into the MBA evening program. Points are to be computed as follows: First Division= 3 Second Division= 2 Third Division=1 CGPA: 4 = 3 CGPA: 3 = 2 CGPA: 2 = 1 Admission Test: Candidates seeking admission in the program will have to sit for a written admission test of 90 minutes. Test will be conducted on aptitude , logical reasoning, situational analysis and analytical ability. It is a competitive test of 80 marks distributed in two sections as follows: MCQ Type: Skills in English Language and Communication 40 Marks MCQ Type: Skills in Logical Reasoning, Critical Analysis and Mathematics 40 Marks The minimum qualifying marks in the written test is 30. In MCQ type question, there will be negative marking for wrong answer. For every wrong answer, 1/5th marks of one correct answer will be deducted. Admission and Course Fee: One need to pay semester enrolment fee of Tk. 3000, registration fee of Tk. 10000 (One time), and Tk. 2500 for each credit hour Depending upon waiver of courses, the total cost varies from Tk 112000 to Tk 199000 to complete the MBA (Evening) program.
