There is no entrance test for getting enrolled in the PhD program in University of Pune and further I am providing you the information related to the Phd program in University of Pune.

Examination pattern:

Questions in section I 20
Questions in section II 30

Duration: 2 hours

Section I
Applied Mathematics and General Science and it will be common for all boards of Studies.

Section II
Same as Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) per specialized branch in engineering. 1 Biotechnology 2. Chemical Engineering 3. Computer Engineering 4. Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have a Post Graduate (Master) Degree from any recognized university with minimum 50% marks.

Syllabus for Ph.D

Section I : English
1. Reading Comprehension

2. Grammar – Tenses, Prepositions, Conjunctions, Passive Voice, Articles, Pronouns,Subject – Verb Agreement, Word order and Direct- Indirect Speech.

2. World Geography: Basic information about the physical, environmental and political aspects of the world today.

3. World politics: Significant political events, institutions and trends in the contemporary world.

4. International Relations: Current international events, organizations and trends.

5. Economic Issues: Significant developments in global economies that affect the contemporary world.

6. Socio- Cultural issues

7. Science and technology in everyday life: (a) recent developments in environmental sciences, life sciences, physical sciences, material sciences, chemical sciences and biological science; (b) ethical issues in science and technology. High-Speed and reliable internet connection

8. Communication: Means and Techniques.

9. Reasoning; basic concepts in and approaches to research.
