A rock sample contains two radioactive elements A and B, with half lives
of 8000 and 16000 years respectively. If the relative proportion of A:B is

Two mirrors are set at right angles to each other. A beam of light, which is

beam is turned with respect to the incident beam direction?

Everyone who applies to study Physics or Physics and Philosophy at Oxford must sit the Physics Aptitude Test.

Date of Test: In 2013, the test is set for the morning of Wednesday 6 November.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION about the Physics Aptitude Test -

The Department of Physics is working in partnership with Admissions
Test Services to administer the above admissions test.

The most important change is in the candidate registration process for the test.

Candidates need to be entered for the Physics Aptitude Test (PAT) by 15 October 2013 via Admissions Test Services’ secure Entries Extranet.

Candidates are strongly advised to familiarise themselves with the format of the test and the syllabus.
