Andhra Pradesh Police Sub-Inspector Exam Selection Process

Candidates will be selected based on their performance in Preliminary Written Test, Physical Measurements Test (PMT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Final Written Examination.

I. Preliminary Selection Test:
One needs to appear for the Preliminary Written Test in two papers (each three hours duration) which will be qualifying.
The minimum marks to be secured by the candidates in order to qualify in the Preliminary Written Test in both the papers are 40% for OCs; 35% for BCs; and 30% tor SCs/STs/Ex-servicemen.
If one fails to secure qualifying marks even in one paper, he will be disqualified.
Total marks for these two Papers will not be counted for the purpose of qualification.
Marks obtained in Preliminary Written Test will have no relevance in the Final selection, which will be based on the marks obtained in Final Examination only.


II. Physical Measurements Test (PMT):
One who qualifies in the Preliminary Written Test has to undergo Physical Measurements Test.


III. Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
One who qualifies in the above Physical Measurement Tests will be required to undergo Physical Efficiency Test.


IV. Final Written Examination:
One who qualifies in the Physical Test will be required to appear for the final written exam in four papers, each of 3 hours duration. Paper I for English, Paper II for Telugu, Paper III for Arithmetic and Test of Reasoning / Mental Ability (Objective in nature) and Paper IV for General Studies.
The minimum marks to be secured by a candidates in order to qualify in the written exam in each paper is 40% for OCs; 35% for BCs; and 30% for SCs/STs and Ex. Servicemen.


V. Preference:
When two or more candidates in a particular category obtain equal marks, preference will be given to the candidate who was born earlier.
