Entrance: EdCET or Education Common Entrance Test

Entrance Test:
For admission into B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) course one has to clear an entrance test called The Education Common Entrance Test (Ed-CET) which is conducted by Convener, Department of Education, Osmania University, Hyderabad on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education.

Qualification:
The qualifying mark in the Entrance Test for all candidates (except SC/ST) is 37 out of total marks (i. e 25%). For the candidates belonging to SC/ST communities there is no qualifying marks for ranking.

Eligibility: Candidates appearing Ed-CET Test should have passed B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./B.Sc.(Home Science)/B.C.A./B.B.M. examination from any University in Andhra Pradesh or a recognized University outside Andhra Pradesh. Candidates have to secured 50% marks either in the Bachelors Degree i.e. B.A./B.Sc/B.Com (Home Science)/BCA/BBM and/or in the Masters Degree or any other qualification equivalent thereto.

Eligibility Exemptions:
The candidates who are in final degree examinations are also eligible to appear for entrance examination.
The candidates belonging to all other reserved categories need secured 40% marks in the qualifying examination.

Medium of Entrance Test:
The question paper is in English and Telugu except for English methodology. However, candidates opting to write the Entrance Test in Urdu medium are served with Urdu paper and such candidates need to opt either Hyderabad or Kurnool as Test Centre.

Exam Pattern:
The common entrance test is of objective type (multiple choices) examination.
Candidate has to answer 150 questions in 2 hours time.
