Presently the ships coming from the west coast of India and other western nations with finish in the east coast of India and also in Bangladesh, China etc have to navigate around Srilankan coast. This is due to the front of a shallow part known as Adam’s bridge, settled southeast of Rameswaram near Pamban, which links the Talimannar Coast of Srilanka.
