Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Nagaland

Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) was set up from its nurture Department, PWD on 1974. The Board of directors of PHE Department is led through a Chief Engineer. There are three Working Circles, ten Working sections and thirty Working Sub divisions. Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Nagaland has supplied Safe Drinking Water Supply and proper sanitary conditions to someone’s of the State. The Department, in order that ensure property of the water supply systems also deals with conservation of water origin catchments and also creation of private awareness on public and personal hygiene.

The Department has already established 2 stationary Water Testing Laboratories (one at Chumukedima Treatment Plant Site under Dimapur Territory and the other at Kohima city Kohima in Zone). The Research laboratories have facilities to test water quality for generally physical, Bacteriological and Chemical contaminations. The Department also carries out State and GOI funded urban water supply plans for urban city.
