The Aligarh Muslim University offers Post Graduate Diploma In Islamic Banking And Finance program of duration 1 year.

Post Graduate Diploma In Islamic Banking And Finance

Duration:

The duration of the course shall be one year full time residential, divided into two semesters of six months each.

Five compulsory papers will be taught in the first semester, whereas, the second semester will comprise of three optional papers, a dissertation and 6-8 week summer training.

Intake:

Proposed intake: 30 candidates

Eligibility:

At least 50% marks in graduation or equivalent in any subject such as B.A., B.Sc., B.Com, B.Tech, B.Th or any other equivalent degree that is considered suitable for admission in Post Graduate course by the University.

Admission Procedure:

Admission to this course is proposed to be based on two steps.

At the first step there shall be an AII- India Written Entrance Test carrying 200 marks.

The test shall be taken on the pattern of the MBA admission test of the university.

In the second step, candidates short listed in the written test, shall appear for a Group Discussion (GD) and personal interview carrying 25 marks.

Final offer of admission shall be based on the combined merit list of fist and second steps.

Obtaining minimum of 40% marks of the total marks allotted for GD and personal interview is essential.

The Central Science Library is situated in the vicinity of Science Departments viz Anthropology, Botany, Zoology, Physics, Chemistry, Geology, Environmental Biology and others.

The three-storied building having a carpet area of 22,595 sq. feet with a sitting capacity of 185 seats started functioning independently

The administration of CSL is under the Dean of the faculty of science.

The three storeyed library building in red stone and concrete is located in beautiful surroundings of parks, flowers and ornamental trees amidst various science faculties.

It is just opposite to and very near to Delhi University Computer Centre.

Library Hours/ Timings

The Library functions for nearly twelve hours during most of academic session.

Library hours are subject to change and all changes in timings are notified on the notice board well in advance.

The Library remains open round the year except Republic Day, Holi, Independence Day and Gandhi Jayanti.

Jamia Millia Islamia University offers reserved seats to certain categories under the JMI Reservation Criteria.

The categories of students who are given reservation usually belong to the minority category.

The reservation criteria of JMI shows the percentage of seats reserved for all categories and the required eligibility to fit in the category.

A certain percentage of seats will be reserved for Muslims, Persons with Disabilities, Kashmiri migrants and more.

All admissions of the reserved category will be done based on the candidate’s rank in JEE Main

Some seats will also be reserved for internal students of Jamia Millia Islamia University.

JMI Reservation Criteria

For Muslim Minority

General Intelligence:

Questions will be designed to test the knowledge of the current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to History, culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity and Scientific Research.

Comprehension and writing Ability of English:

Questions will be designed to test the candidates understanding and knowledge of English language, its vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms and antonyms etc. There will also be questions on comprehension of passages.
Arithmetic:

Questions will be designed to test the ability of the candidate to perform fundamental arithmetic operations and his skill in working out problems relating to percentages, ratio and proportion, average, estimates, rounding numbers, use of tables and graphs, mensuration, time and distance, ratio and time.
