Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) was set up on 1960 and it is located in Guwahati, northeastern India. The Gauhati Medical College was authorized through Medical Council of India on every 1st examination of the 1st batch, that is, the 1st, second and final Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery held in 1962, 1964 and 1965 respectively. General Medical Council of United Kingdom accredited the bachelor’s degree of this college in 1969, thereby enabling the graduates to pursue higher studies in that nation.
