(I) TRACTION ROLLING STOCK (MAINTENANCE)

Locomotive & EMU overview - including 3-phase Locos and 3-phase EMUs.

Locomotive Design � Adhesion, Tractive Effort, haulage capacity, weight transfer, Comparison between different types of Locomotives, Static & Rotary equipments.

Power and Auxiliary Control Circuit, Pneumatic & Braking Circuit

Bogie, Wheel arrangement, and types of drives.

Maintenance schedules of Loco, TM, auxiliaries, Bogie & other Loco Equipments.

Failures and various Modifications.

Visit to loco shed, trip shed and loco POH workshop.


(II) TRACTION ROLLING STOCK (OPERATION)


Motive power and Man power planning - Power Plan, Loco Link & Crew Link.

Crew Management and Training � Crew requirement, crew training, Road learning, Classification of Drivers, System of Monitoring and Counseling, Safety.

Duties of TLC, CCOR, LI, LP and ALP, Working of TLC, CCOR, use of FOIS.

Statistical data preparation for Loco Operation (4 A Statement etc.), LHC.

Trip shed, crew booking Lobby / Depot and Running Room management.

Carriage and Wagon problems in Loco Operation, parting and stalling.
