The School of Education and the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan offer a dual-degree program facilitate limited qualified students to pursue concurrent work in higher education and business administration leading to the Master of Arts in higher education and the master of business administration degrees.

Requirements

• The master of arts in higher education requires 30 hours of coursework, including:
• Core curriculum (9 credits)
• Concentration courses (12 credits)
• Cognates (9 credits)

• The MBA 57 credit-hour degree program including:
• Business administration (45 credits) made up of:
• Roughly 30 credit-hour master of business administration core (no credit is awarded for business administration core courses successfully waived: credit must be earned with business electives)
• Roughly 15 elective hours in business administration
• Master of business administration communication requirement
• Up to 12 credit hours of transferable electives from the School of Education

Minimum 66 total credit hours are required for the dual-degree program.

Minimum 3 terms of full-time enrollment must be completed in business administration.

Full-time enrollment is defined as 9 credit hours or more of coursework per term.
