What all courses are being offered by National Institute of Ayurveda and what is the process to get the admission for 2012? What is the eligibility to join BAMS from NIA and what is the fee structure for this course?

The National Institute of Ayurveda was founded on 7 February 1976 through the Government of India as an apex Institute and it component of Department of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India and is total financed through it. The admission to BAMS programme in NIA is by an entrance test carried on through Rajasthan Ayurved University. Institute is autonomous body of Department of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeo (AYUSH).

Name of Courses – BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery)
Duration – Five Years Six Months
Mode – Full Time
Selection Process – Entrance Examination Merit List
Application Form – National Institute of Ayurveda official website
Application Form Available Date – 3rd week of April, 2012
Application Form Submitted Date – 3rd week of May, 2012
Examination Date – First week of July, 2012

Admission Eligibility – The candidate should have 12th passed with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with atleast 50% aggregate mark from any recognized Board in India. Those who are looking for class 12th exams in can also apply.

National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur was established in 1976, is an apex Institute under the Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India for promoting the growth and development of Ayurveda as a model Institute and high standards of teaching, training, research and patient care.
The Institute is affiliated to the Rajasthan Ayurveda University, Jodhpur.

Recruitment:
The NIA, Jaipur invites applications for recruitment of Professor, Associate Professor, Lecturer, Pharmacy Manager, Vaidya (Medical Officer), Clinical Registrar and various other posts.


Educational Qualification:

Candidates applying for the posts of Professor, Associate Professor should have PG Qualification in Ayurveda in the concerned Subject recognized by CCIM/ Ayurved Vachaspati, M.D. (Ay.) of University of Rajasthan in the concerned Subject.

For the post of Lecturer Degree in Ayurveda of a recognized University and recognized by CCIM. For the post of Pharmacy Manager MD (Ayurveda) in the Subject of Rasa Shastra & Bhaishajaya Kalpana from a recognized University and duly recognized by CCIM.

For the post of Vaidya (Medical Officer) MD/ MS (Ayurveda) in the subject of Kayachikitsa/ Panchakarma/ Shalya Tantra/ Shalakya Tantra/ Prasuti & Stri Roga/ Bal Roga from a recognized University and duly recognized by CCIM. Please refer the notification for the other posts qualification.

Age Limit:
The upper age should be below 55 years for the Professor post, 50 years for the Assoc. Professor post, 40 years for the remaining posts.

Age Relaxation:
The upper age is relaxable by 3 years in case of OBC Up to 5 years in case of SC/ST/ Women/ PH.

The National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA) is the apex institute for training and research in Ayurveda in India, established in 1976 at Jaipur, by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.


NIA BAMS Entrance exam:
The National Institute Of Ayurveda conducts an entrance exam for giving admission to the BAMS course, here I am giving the details of the BAMS entrance exam:

Seats:
92 Seats

Eligibility:
The candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with atleast 50% aggregate marks in PCB.

The candidates those who are appearing for class 12th exams in 2012 can also apply.

The candidate age should have 17 years.

Apply procedure:
The candidates can get the application form will be directly from the National Institute of Ayurveda and designated branches of Bank of Rajasthan.
The candidates can also obtain the form by sending a request for the form along with a demand draft.

The NIA is not giving the online application procedure.

Selection procedure:
The selection is based on the merit basic of the written test that is conducted by the NIA.

Exam pattern:
The NIA BAMS entrance or admission test is of objective type.
A total of 80 questions will be there which has to be completed within 90 minutes.
Each correct answer will be allotted 1 mark and marks will be reduced as a penalty for the incorrect ones.
