Default Number Of Attempts For IES Exam

Hello sir, I want to know that how many times candidates may apply for IES exam. Is there any one can provide me Number of attempts for IES exam?

The Indian Engineering Services are the civil services that assemble the technical and managerial functions of the Government of India.

The Government of India recruits its civil servants and officials on the basis of merit, the middle management positions in the bureaucracy are filled through competitive exams.

For this IES exam general category candidates may attempt in 4 times. And for OBC candidate numbers of attempts are 7.

But there is no limit for SC/ST candidates.

Number of attempts for IES exam:

4 attempts for General category
7 attempts For OBC candidates category
No limit for SC/ST candidates category

Nationality:

The candidate must be one of the following:
A citizen of India
A citizen of Nepal or a subject of Bhutan


Educational qualifications:
Candidates have least a bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.E. / B. Tech) from a recognised university or equivalent. M.Sc degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communications, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as special subjects also acceptable for certain services / posts only.

Age limits:

21–30 years

Upper age limit relaxation is provided to candidates as follows:

A maximum of 3 years for OBC candidates [Non Creamy Layer only]
A maximum of 4 years in case of Defence Services personnel disabled
A maximum of 5 years for candidates belonging to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe
A maximum of 5 years if a candidate had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 1 January 1980 to 31 December 1989
A maximum of 5 years in case of ex-servicemen including Commissioned Officers and ECOs/SSCOs
