Ok, here I am telling you some best Strategies for Common Admission Test CAT exam preparation.

CAT Exam preparation Strategy

Start preparing for CAT five months in advance.

The strategy is to first solidify the basics for all the four sections and then deep-dive into each one of them.

For Quantitative section, practice numerals as much as you can.

Take timed CAT mock tests to track your progress

Read newspaper editorials, and other online material regularly

Go for an exhaustive numerical practice and individual topic tests for each section.

Work on specific skills like verbal ability and logical reasoning

Work on building your quantitative aptitude and general language skills too

A positive approach and reading all the questions in the stipulated time are very important for answering the questions correctly.

CAT exam Pattern-

Sections - 3

Quantitative Ability
Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning
Verbal and Reading Comprehension

Number of Questions -100

Quantitative Ability – 34
Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning - 32
Verbal and Reading Comprehension – 34

Duration - 180 minutes

Sectional Duration-
1 hour for each section

Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Non-MCQs

Calculator Usage-

Marking Scheme

No marks(or negative marks) for ‘wrong or no attempt’.

The scoring scheme for multiple-choice questions (MCQ's) is:
