Here I am sharing the IIIrd Sem Syllabus of B Tech EE for West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT) III Semester NUMERICAL METHODS Approximation in numerical computation: Truncation and rounding errors, Fixed and floatingpoint arithmetic, Propagation of errors. Interpolation: Newton forward/backward interpolation, Lagrange’s and Newton’s divided difference Interpolation. Numerical integration: Trapezoidal rule, Simpson’s 1/3 rule, Expression for corresponding error terms. Numerical solution of a system of linear equations: Gauss elimination method, Matrix inversion, LU Factorization method, GaussSeidel iterative method. Numerical solution of Algebraic equation: Bisection method, RegulaFalsi method, NewtonRaphson method. Numerical solution of ordinary differential equation: Euler’s method, RungeKutta methods, PredictorCorrector methods and Finite Difference method. MATHEMATICS Module I: Fourier Series & Fourier Transform [8L] Topic: Fourier Series: SubTopics: Introduction, Periodic functions: Properties, Even & Odd functions: Properties, Special wave forms: Square wave, Half wave Rectifier, Full wave Rectifier, Sawtoothed wave, Triangular wave.
