Rajasthan SET (State Eligibility Test) is directed by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) for lectureship in different colleges, universities and institutes in the state of Rajasthan.
Recruitment to the post of Lecturer is made from among SET qualified candidates by universities, colleges and recruitment agencies as per the prescribed procedures and rules and regulations.
There is no age limit for Rajasthan SET.
One who have secured minimum 55% marks in Master degree or equivalent exam from universities, institutions recognized by UGC in subjects of Humanities (including languages) and Social Sciences, Computer Science and Application, Earth Science, Population Studies, Education etc is eligible to apply.
One who have appeared or will be appearing for the qualifying Master degree (final) exam and whose results are awaited are also eligible to apply.
Ph.D. degree holders whose Master level exam had been completed by 19th September, 1991 (irrespective of date of declaration of result) is eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e. from 55% to 50%) for appearing in SET.
One is required to appear in subject of their post-graduation only. If the subject of a candidate is not included in the list of SET subjects, one may appear in UGC NET/UGC- CSIR NET held twice a year.
Rajasthan SET Paper Pattern:-
Rajasthan SET paper pattern shall consist of three papers which are scheduled for two sections.
Paper I (100 marks): 60 questions out of which 50 questions are to be attempted (one hour)
Paper II (100 marks): All 50 questions are compulsory (one hour)
Paper III (150 marks): All 75 questions are compulsory (two hours)
Paper-I shall be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate.
It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.
60 Multiple choice questions of two marks each will be given, out of which the candidate would be required to answer any fifty (50).
In the event of the candidate attempting more than fifty questions, the first fifty questions attempted by the candidate would be evaluated.
Paper-II& III shall consist of Objective type questions based on the subject selected by the candidate.
Each question will carry 2 marks.
