I want to become Drug Inspector .Can you please provide the eligibility conditions of becoming Drug Inspector?

Drug Inspector investigates the conditions and hygiene habits of manufacturing and packaging personnel and ensures that manufacturer’s posses all necessary licenses and permits.

To become a drug inspector one need to fulfil the eligibility conditions given below:

Eligibility Conditions:
Candidate must complete graduation in Pharmacy(B.Pharma).
Graduates in medicine with microbiology specialization can also apply for the exam.

Applicant must have minimum 3years of relevant work experience in manufacturing sector of pharma product is necessary to compete in the exam.

Exam Pattern:
The exam is conducted by state public service commission/UPSC.
The question paper comprises of following sections given below:
General Knowledge
Current affairs
Mental ability
Logical reasoning
One paper is purely technical aspects of drugs(subject paper) based on B.Pharma syllabus.

Few departments that hire food and drug inspectors given below:
Lobbyist groups
Regional, provincial/state and national government departments
Non-governmental organizations interested in food hygiene or food sanitation and drug safety

Qualification Required
Aspirants should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or its related subjects from any PCI recognized University.
• One should have a minimum of 18 months experience in the manufacturing field.
• The age limit of the applicants must be between 21 years and 35 years. Relaxation of 5 years is allowed for reserved category candidates.
• Applicants should be Indian citizens.
Selection Procedure
The first round of selection will be a written test. The next round will be a physical fitness round. Before final selection one should score well in viva voce as well.
The exact pattern and syllabus of the exam will vary as per the authority which conducts the exam. The written test will comprise of objective type questions. Multiple choices will be given in most of the exams. There may be negative marking for wrong responses. There will be two papers. One paper will be subject oriented and the other will be based on general knowledge and general Science.

The main job of the Drug Inspector is to investigate the conditions and hygiene habits of manufacturing and packaging personnel and ensures that manufacturers posses all necessary licenses and permits.Maharashtra Public Service Commission offers candidates to join several Govt. services by organizing Drug Inspector exam.

Eligibility Criteria:
Interested candidates must have Graduation degree in Chemistry or Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Science from any reputed College or University.
Candidates' maximum age should be 45 yrs.

Candidate must complete graduation in Pharmacy (B.Pharma).
Graduates in medicine with microbiology specialization can also apply for the exam.

Candidate must have minimum 3years of relevant work experience in manufacturing sector of pharma product is necessary to compete in the exam.

As on 29-Jan-2014,there is no notification is available related to Drug Inspector exam, so here I am providing tentative dates for your idea.

Tentative Dates:

Last Date for Online Application: third week of March,2014
Last Date for Amount Submission in Bank: last week of March 2014
Last Date for Submission of Transaction ID Updation Details: last week of March 2014
