Andhra Pradesh University of Health Sciences is most famous graduate university in medical fields in Andhra Pradesh. The Andhra Pradesh Government has the distinction of founding the 1st University of Health Sciences fulfilling the recommendations of respective committees. The University part was temporarily adapted in the Siddhartha Medical College building and operated in that limited space till March, 2002. The full number of colleges associated to the University at the time of its organization was twenty-seven. At present the affiliated colleges has now gone up to three hundred sixteen. The Degrees granted by the University are accredited by the statutory bodies as though the Medical Council of India, the Dental Council of India.
